Thank you loves for coming back, and if your new here,
Hi, I’m Terrie
Honestly speaking, I CAN NOT still believe it, but it has been almost 4 years since I started blogging. I first started it as a way to while away time. Back then, there weren’t as many bloggers as they are now, so I didn’t have much to motivate me except Zoharous, My big sister’s blog which is awesome by the way. You should check it out. It has been real fun and I have made so many friends, through commenting on other blogs and social media. But back then, I wasn’t consistent at all, I was horrible with tagging my posts, and my categorizing them was another problem we would go through another day.
Basically, for 3 years, I had no idea what I was doing or what I was about. But surprisingly, I hit over 70,000 page views. This was when I didn’t know what I was doing ooo. I wonder what will happen now that I do, Charle: )
Anyway, Things have completely changed for me. A new website, new targets, new focus, and in fact, a totally different mindset altogether.
Please subscribe so you never miss out on my juicy posts.
But just so you guys ( my lovely new subscribers) can also try your hands on something new (like starting a successful blog), here are some 5 secrets that are really doing wonders for my blog
- Invest in your Blog
I’m not say spend like there is no tomorrow, I mean invest wisely in your blog. Take advantage of sales and coupon codes when making purchases especially online shopping. Some shops can even give you a blogger discount just so you mention them in your post about the item. Buy a domain so people see that you’re serious about what you’re doing. Make double sure that the domain you’re buying is available and it’s from an authentic source or you’ll get spammed to death. There are also annual tariffs to be paid for hosting as well, so if your not the techie kind, please pay a professional to bail you. It’s also cool to have a techie friend that is willing to help you out for free. So far I would recommend WordPress for already versed bloggers who are seeking some kind of change because of its design versatility. But for a total new bee, I recommend you try Blogger since it is google based and is a lot easier to use. I’ve done both so it’s just my opinion.
2. Place Ownership on your images
People do not usually contact you before they use your images, so the best way to prevent copyright if to brand your images. Add your logo or even your blog name to your pictures. That way it’s event as to where the person got the image from. It really does help to do this. So even if you do not try any of my tips, try this one. You can simply use your phone for this, or your laptop, just to be fancy. PicArt works, Canva works, photoshop is even better, but I like to use pic monkey.
But make use you keep the original just so you can always make changes. Nothing is set in stone.
3. High-quality pictures
I try to use images with extremely high resolutions for my posts. I’m really selective when it comes to my pictures and I usually have to take about 20 pictures before I get one good one to use. The truth is, as long as you have an android phone or an iPhone with good enough picture quality, I’m sure you’ll be good to go. Click here for some picture taking tips. Make your blog visual based and interesting with awesome images and your fans will keep coming.
4. Check your spelling
This is something I really struggled with in my previous blog. I woulď read and read and read through my posts and still have some annoying errors to correct. It’s not the easiest thing. So I use GRAMMARLY. It’s the best tool ever launched since the inventio of the air conditioner (feeling extremely hot at the moment, charle). I make sure to run my posts through GRAMMARLY to make sure I have gotten rid of at least 98% of the grammatical errors. Then I submit my posts for proofreading, by a fresh one to make sure everything is in place. No one wants to read a blog with bad English composition.
5. Post Helpful and interesting content
Post about what you would like to read on other blogs. Post what has helped you. Post about anything interesting that tickles your fancy. Just make sure it’s within your niche and it’s of importance especially to you. Be unique in everything you write about. Share new and juicy information that can most definitely be beneficial to at least one reader. Let your creative juices flow like the unending heavenly waters: )
